Pregnant or Not?

First off, I am very paranoid so this may all be nothing.  I'm 23 and have been on birth control (pills) for several years.  Money is getting tight and I was forced to wait almost a week from the end of the placebos to begin taking the active pills.  My boyfriend and I have been together for over two years and we no longer use condoms.  It completely slipped my mind to use backup during that week and now I'm worried.  I didn't actually get a period on that last round of placebos and it's been almost two weeks.  I did notice the egg-white cervical mucus that usually means ovulation, however it was tinged with blood.  I haven't had any other spotting but my breasts are so sore I want to tear them off!  I've had some nausea but I'm gonna chalk that up to anxiety.  Also a combination of diarrhea and constipation (lovely right?) I'm concerned I may be pregnant and I don't know whether or not I just need to get out of my head or start making healthier lifestyle choices immediately. btw... negative preg. test a week ago

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
I would suggest you take a repeat test for pregnancy at any of the labs or at walk in clinics. If it is still negative then the only way to confirm is to get a vaginal ultrasound done. Sometimes a season change along with an infection can delay the periods.
Hope these tips help. Hi

Consult your gynecologist. You would need to tell her what medications you are on so that either dose adjustments. Birth control pills you will have to stop but do so only after a confirmation of pregnancy. Also if you have had a miscarriage in past, you need to consult a Gyne at the earliest. Hope these tips help. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Condoms gave me hella yeast infections... not that it's an excuse for not using them when I knew the risk for pregnancy was higher.  My biggest concerns are about continuing using  birth control if I am pregnant (Loestrine FE) and if I should be concerned about the other medications I'm on (Humira- an immune supressing injection).  We're certainly not trying to start a family but we're in agreement that marriage has been in our near future for a while and speeding up the process isn't a problem.  I just don't want to get too far ahead of myself and I wasn't sure if I would have this level of breast tenderness so early.  BTW... this is not my first pregnancy, the last one ended in miscarriage-thus the concern.

your not using condoms and was not taking your birth control for a period of time....yes you can be pregnant. your going to have to wait and take a test. and know that plenty of women get pregnant while on birth control even when they take it at the correct time. if you dont want to get pregnant you need to start using condoms again as well as your birth ocontrol...but your sypmtoms can be a number of things like messing up your pills, stopping and getting back on them
