RARE late period, pregnancy test negative.

I am 27 years old and husband and I have been trying to conceive for 1 year.  Dr. just diagnosed infertility and ordered a semen analysis (the 1st step for us) but we haven't done it yet.  Now, my period is 5 days late (I calculate like a crazy woman).  I am NEVER late and was sure THIS WAS IT.  Lo and behold the test had a big minus.  I cried.  I didn't test in the a.m. but it says you don't have to.  I am scared to test again just to see another sad result.  I feel queasy but maybe I am wishing these symptoms on.  How accurate are these tests??  How long should I wait to do it again?

Thanks!!

hey i was 8 days late and took tests that all said negative, so when i saw my doc he said to count 14 days past the first day of my last period then see if you had intercourse 3-5 days before or on that 14th day if so you were most likely ovulating and chances are you might be prego!

have you tried using ovulation tests to see when you might be ovulating to see if that might help? or it sounds like maybe ur body has stopped producing the hormones for your period to come...

Hi everyone.. I am cautiously optimistic at this time.. Reading your stories have given me hope but Im trying not to get to excited.. My periods have been pretty irregular.. But Ive always had one a month. The timing may change from beginning to the end of the month.. My husband and I have been having unprotected sex since last November.. Hoping to conceive. My last period was on Jan 19th. I have not had a period since then. I have taken 2 different pregnancy tests, an EPT and a CVS brand (because of the different hormone levels). Both came out negative. I have never had acne, but in the last two weeks, my skin has broken out and become EXTREMELY oily.. I usually have bad cramps with my periods, nothing though.. No other symptoms, other than using the bathroom a little bit more than usual.. I am overweight. Are HCG levels affected by weight? Could this be the reason that the tests are coming up negative? I am going to wait out March and see if anything happens.. If not, Ill make an appt with my gyno in April... What do you guys think?>

i hope you update us soon! ^^

i, too was due to have AF on feb 12th or so, cause my lmp was jan 12th. until now, i havent had my AF but my bf and i had sex (unprotected and ttc ;) ) almost every other day of the first 2 weeks of feb, then on feb 14th, then on the 19th. i saw some brownish discharge on 21st, and im experiencing some mild cramps.

i took HPT on feb 16th, and it turned out to be BFN.
i am now scared to take another as i feel like im just going to waste it.

when do you think should i take another test?

all comments will be appreciated ^^
