Recurring yeast infection

I got a yeast infection and I bought some of the over the counter medicine for it. I used it and seemed to work for a little bit but my infection is back. My mom said that I should go to the store and get more medicine and try again.... will that help or should I contact my doctor? Has anyone else had this problem, where a yeast infection returns?

Alright, that's what I figured I should do. However if it's not a yeast infection what could it be? I'm not sexually active so it can't be an STD or anything related to that but I suppose there are other things....

Oh, I'm a lifeguard and I wear the same swimsuit to work, I always rinse it out between shifts but I don't always get a chance to wash it! I'm wondering if it could of come back from wearing a swim suit that wasn't clean enough. Is there any possibility of this?

Well, either way I'm calling my doctor tomorrow.

If the medicine didn't help, then its time to go to the doctor.  It may not have been a yeast infection at all.
