As far as what I've been told by my GYN today, you should start trying BEFORE the earliest possible ovulation date. So if your window is the 4th to the 10th I would start getting busy around the 1st. According to my GYN your man's boys can live inside your body for up to 4 days under optimal conditions. Some people say you should BD everyday while you're ovulating- however my Dr has advised against every day nookie citing the reason as it could lower the potency of the sperm. She stated that early morning sperm is strongest and that men should not take a hot bath immediately before TTC- becuase apparently the added heat can kill some of the boys. So I would start no later than the 1st, then the 3rd (that way a fresh batch is there in case you ovulate immediately in your window) then the 5th, then the 7th, 9th etc.... that way there is always a fresh batch right there within 48 hours should the egg drop on any day in between. She also mentioned that any presence of EWCM is a definate sign that you should be getting busy. Whether it means you're going to ovulate immediately or it's impending- either way- that EWCM is prime sperm saving atmosphere. :) Hope that helps hon.
