Starting the pill

Ok so I got the combi pill and started taking them midcycle.Im normally spot on 30-31 day cycle and this month I got my period on the 2nd July and they last about 4-5 days like usual.i then got them again on the 17th, 15 days later. They lasted longer this time about 7 days.they finished up around the 23rd-24th July. It's now the 17th aug and I had them again yet. starting the pill midcycle is obviously going to mess up my cycle but when r they likely to return to normal. I heard they mess you up for a few months so when I got them on the 17th I stopped taking them as I didn't want spotting over the next couple of months as I have a few things to attend. Are they likely to return soon and then be back to every 30-31 days or will they be messed up for a couple of months be from taking them for a couple of weeks last month? Thanks for your replies :)

Talk to your doctor about when to start your new pack since you stopped the pack.  They shouldn't mess you up like that.  Any bleeding while taking the active pills is called breakthrough bleeding and occurs because a) you missed a pill or b) you need a different birth control/higher dose version of that birth control for it to work for you.
