Could I have had a miscarriage for an unknown pregnancy?

I had to go off my birthcontrol for about a month and when I got back on it a month later my boyfriend and I only waited a few days before we started having unprotected sex again.  At the end of my pack, I started my period, but it was extremely painful with a lot of bleeding.  I felt like my insides were on fire and at times I could even feel my muscles moveing and contracting.  When I changed my tampon I saw more than just blood, there was thick tissue on it as well.  I was very confused and still am.  I was wondering if maybe I could have been pregnant, but ended up having a miscarriage.

It is possible - the hormones in the pills could have caused miscarriage - day after pill is a large dose of hormones.  
Things should return to normal over the next cycle - if not call your Dr. and let him/her know what happened

Thank you... I actually started my period again today, only about a week an a half since the episode...  I still don't know if that's what it was, so if anyone else has any insight, please let me know.

It could have been from stopping and starting bcps. But it could have also been a miscarriage. I would call your dr and tell them what happend and see if they want to see you. Good Luck!

this happened to me a few months ago, i got my period early and noticed a lot more blood and tissue like stuff and i know this might sound gross (sorry) but blood clots. bigger then the average one you can get during a period.. when i went to see my doctor he told me it sounds like that....

This happen to me last year. My last normal period was November 2004. I thought I was  pregnancy when my lower abdomen started to harden and stick out and my neck stiffen(which was a sign with my first pregnancy , but after sex in March of last year I started cramping and pink spotting then it stop. About a few days later I started spotting red blood. For almost the entire month of March and April I spotted red, brown, and pink blood. On May the 1st I started to bleed heavy with clots(I never have clots with my period) and hurt really bad. It felt exactly like burning in my lower abdomen. I bled for 2 weeks. Then 12 days later bled for another week. I asked the doctor about it and he said my period was just worst now and I needed to take more pills to stop the pain. He did say my cervix was unusually closed and that what was causing the pain.  So I visit other sites and another woman said  miscarriage had happen that same way with spotting 2 months and then two bleeding that stop then started again. Strangely my period has not been right since then and my stomach is hard and swollen still looking pregnant. My breast are swollen and leaking colostrum. I been to doctor after doctor to find out my problem trying to tell them for them to look at me like I am stupid and diagnosis me  with something stupid like women tend to gain weight in their stomach. I look like a stick with a big stomach and breast. It is getting hard for me to do things with my stomach, because it hurts to bend over.

Go to either another doctor or an ER/Urgent Care place.  Perhaps you might not want to mention your idea that you are pregnant.  If your stomach is sticking out that far, far enough to feel movement that you usually describe, and have colostrum...if you are pregnant it won't take them long to figure it out.  If you keep saying you are so far pregnant despite all the evidence to the contrary, they won't take you seriously.  

I'd be far more concerned about a tumor or something.  There are some other things besides pregnancy that can cause your breasts to leak what you describe as colostrum.

I know, but I did not say I was pregnant. Nor when I went to the doctor any of the other times did I say I was pregnant. When I gave them my symptoms they asked me was I pregnant. I told them no but it seems like pregnancy. So if they do not take me serious it is not because I told them I was pregnant it is because they thought I was just like other people around me. They take my urine and say you are not pregnant and they do not know what is wrong with me. I think so of you just reading what you want to read. I have ask about movement, colostrum, and other things. Not once did I say I was pregnant. I said I think I had a miscarriage because I had symptoms like the first post had and like other women on another site.  Not sure of what it was. It could possibly be a tumor. I do not know. Anyway I just went to the doctor and waiting the results from my CT scan. Now if I thought I was pregnant would I take a CT scan. Take this how you want it because I am tired of people putting words in my mouth. Read the my post carefully.

I sympathise with you ttl, and Il sure people dont mean to put words into your mouth. Ive been looking for months now for answers to my questions and u seem to have the same symptoms as me, I have leaky nipples aching abdomen and I was falling asleep for no reason in the middle of the day, and had several faint pos preg tests but the gp said neg everytime I went even the bloods were said to be neg. They really dont take me serious either and keep saying Im not preg so now Im confused. I have an appointment tomorrow so Im gonna ask for some scans aswell cos this pain is getting worse. Im a bit chubby so its hard to see if my stomach is growin or not but I feel it, and Ive had 3 babies (first died 34 weeks gestation) so I know what I feel and its like they think they know more than me and cos of what happ to my first baby and my 3rd was 6 weeks premie Im not leavin anything to chance but what can u do if the gp dont listen, and I cant afford private. Its really worrying me now. I hope everything goes well with you ttl, please let us know ur results if thats ok, I will too.

I have the same symptons too... and i've taken many preg tests and they all come out negative. I get feelings in my stomach as if i'm pregnant, but i've had my period, was 2 1/2 weeks late this time, but i started... but i have pregnancy symptoms. my stomach is gettin larger and i've gained 15lbs in the last few months, but tests say i'm not preg... idk what mine is either....

I had sex about two weeks ago with my boyfriend and then after we had sex a had a little bit of blood.i was confused becuase my period wasnt due for another two weeks becuase im on the pill and its always come on the day its ment to.i am still bleeding and is a different colour blood to my normal period blood,this blood is bright red and it stops and then comes back later one,i also get really bad cramps now and then and i have put on weight.does anyone know what is going on? do you think i had a misscarrige or something??

I have no idea if i am having a miscarriage. i thought i got my period early.. but now it has been 9 days and i am still bleeding. it started as light pink bleeding.. then 4 days later it went to heavy bright red bleeding. Now on day 9 it is almost black but not as heavy. in the beginning i had cramps... not major, but just enough to be uncomfortable. with is not normal for me in a normal period. i never get cramps. i also had some lower back pain which is also not normal. Could i be having a miscarriage? i have two girls a year appart. i have never delt with something like this. I dont want to go to the doc. if its not because i dont have health insurance. HELP! LOL

i usually get my period every 4 to 5weeks. but this month its really wierd. my last period was from the 25th of july to the 1st.the thing is i have been sexually active almost every day between the dates 16th july and 11 august.( lol bf and i dnt see each other much) anyhu soon after my last period (01/07) my breasts have been extremely sore especially my nipples aswell as my back but i brushed it off as my confused body. the thing thats worrying me is that i got my period or wat seems like my period on the 16th of aug  again. followed by cramps iv neva experienced b4 aswell as clots i was only expect my period on the 22nd or even later as it usually takes me longer to get my period.i dont know whats goin on. the cramp were really bad but arnt nemore and my breast are no longer sore. im jis worried because i shudnt have my period yet and i dont ever pass clots or have cramps dat bad. what do u think? sombody please shed some light on the "****-uation" for me!

i recently started birth control. and after my first pack it was 3 days until i got my  period, although this was no ordinary period for me, it had large dark lumps in and has scared me.
i don't know if i was pregnant, but thought i was for about 2 months.
could this have been a miscarriage, or just a really heavy period from the pill?
please help as this is worrying me, and my boyfriend always wants to know what is bugging me.

I've been having a similar problem. I started having irregular periods for about 5 months now. The last two months have been spotting, bleeding right after sex. now this past Sat. right after I had a BM (sorry if im being gross) I had a severe cramp in my lower adb two mins after that i had to run to the bathroom bc i had blood clods coming out. At first I thought it was my period but then it just turned in brown spotting. Today Monday i saw my ob/gyn and she performed a biopsy of my uterus lining. (This was the most excrusiating pain I have ever experienced, she said its very close to child labor) however she said did see anything from the ultrasound she did. I'm just confused... was it miscarriage? whats going on. I'm only 25 but when I see my dr. I feel that my symptons are not being taking serious bc im "young" as they say.

I experienced something scary today and am wondering the same. I've been expecting my period for almost 2 weeks now & for the past week I have had lower back pain and ovary pain during the past week. Today I was going to the bathroom and noticed a tissue-like clot that was bloody came out (looked like a floating bloody peice of toilet paper) after that some blood came out and I am having pretty bad cramps and lower back pains...I have been feeling nauseus all morning
I have never had a tissuey clot like this come out !!
Helppp I feel like I could have had (or be having ?!) a miscarriage of an unknown pregnancy & idk what to do or think !!

i am experiencing something similar. I had unprotected with my partner and then started on bcp's 2 weeks later but now i am bleeding alot more than usual with like clots larger than usual and and sometimes comes out like a sheet of bloody paper and i have been getting really bad lower back pain and abdominal pain. I have also been feeling sick.  i was wandering if i could have had a miscarriage cause the bleeding has not stopped for like almost a week now.

Usually your first period after going on birth control pills tends to be a pretty heavy one. If you are really concerned about it you could always call your dr.

Ive been having unprotected sex alot with my bf and i got my period it was really late and just light spotting and brown blood bt then i had sex with him again and it started heavy. Then stopped the next day. Now just a few weeks later its started again and its pretty heavy and theres alot of blood clots srry tmi. ive also been having pains in my lower stomach area. Ive been having all the symptoms of being pregnant (tender boobs,mood swings, swelling stomach) ive taken 2 pregnancy test the first one had a very very faint positive and the second one was negative. bt i took them pretty soon after we had sex so it could of just been too soon to tell. Could i be having a miscarriage of an unknown pregnancy?? im only 17 so and scared to talk to my mom about going to the doctor because im supposed to be on the pill. But it messed my body up so much i stopped taking them. Any addvice or anything would be greatly appreciated.

Hi can someone please give me their opinion on this im confused :(. I cannot remember the last time i had a period. I thought it might have been march but my boyfriend of a year and a half said he's almost certain i never had one which scared us a little. I was due a period on the 27th of may but i never came on. I started to panick a little but i put the missed period down to stress. Then when i missed the second one i thought i could well be pregnant. I told my boyfriend and he said that it might just be stress still making my body messed up. I havent been on any birth control apart from condoms. I went for a check up about a month or so ago and they said i wasnt pregnant but i thought thats it im not pregnant !. i pushed it at the back of my mind and carried on as normal. But then i started to feel sick about a week ago and my nipples got big and my breast were majorly sore!. Everytime my boyfriend tried touching them i slapped him away ( sorry ) lol. anyways my mum went into hospital last week also and that put a major strain on me because i had to look after my lil  bros and sisters while she was in hospital. Then i started having severe pains a few nights ago and i put a sanitary towel on just incase i bled in the night. then when i woke up in the morning there was loads of blood and big blood clots :( I'm still bleeding now and the blood clots were preety big at first but have gone smaller. and there is a lot of tissue'y kind of stuff going on. The pain is REALLY bad and i keep crying and am unable to walk sometimes. Is this a misscarriage or just a VERY late period ??? xx

About six years ago, I started have really sore breasts. Hurt bad at the nipple and really sore everywhere else. That was the only symptom of pregnancy I had. That lasted about a week. After that, I started bleeding. I have had irregular cycles for about 11 years now, so I didn't think much of it at first. But, I was cramping bad and bleeding heavily, and I even had some gray tissue-like something in it as well, along with clotting. My cycles have never been like that. The heavy bleeding lasted three days and then it stopped. I was told that it was just a normal period because I hadn't had one in so long. I accepted that after talking to three gynecologists about it. My question is if a woman has a miscarriage, and she doesn't know she had one, can that affect her chances of getting pregnant in the future?Especially if she has not gotten the dnc procedure done? Hope someone has some insight.
