Swelling in upper labia minora

Not sure I am posting in the correct area. I have had a painful swelling in the upper right side of my labia minora. It is very swollen and painful. I have done a search, but the only thing I find is for a Bartholin gland cyst and my husband doesn't think it looks the same as my swelling is on the same part only on the upper portion of the labia minora. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I have soaked in a bath and taken advil, but it is still hurting to walk or sit in certain positions. Thanks!

I have a swelling on my inner labia. Ive had mine 18 mths now and I did the usual internet searches and found Batholins Cyst. Assumed it was that and tried all the remedies suggested all too no avail. I then found I was pregnant again. My initial embarrassment was halted whilst I considered would I be able too deliver my baby naturally with this "cyst" in place. I went to my gp who referred me in record sped too an OBGYN and I was seen a few days ago. I wont lie and say it was pleasant, cos it was damn uncomfortable and embarrassing. She had to get another opinion which sent me into a head spin about what the hell it would be. The fantastic Dr then informed me it was a Labia Minor Cyst, although quite uncommon, they do occur. Like getting an abscess on your finger, it can just "happen" sometimes. So now they are "monitoring" it. Yes I get uncomfortable in the evenings as it has obviously gotten slightly bigger during the day, but so do peoples feet. Its just your body. Anyway, please, go see your GPs/Dr. I know its highly embarrassing but its worth it in the long run. My Obgyn is going too surgically remove the entire gland 12 weeks after my baby is born !! Yes probably be a little sore afterwards, but nothing compared to what it is at the moment. I do so hope all you ladies get your sorted out too. I wish you all pain free times ahead.
