Swollen (sore) bump under skin by vagina

3 days ago I woke up without the bump, but throughout the day the area around the left side of my vagina became increasingly sore. It wasnt till i came home that i took a look at it. Its a hard pea-sized bump under my skin, and can be pushed around a bit. I was thinking it was a cyst, but is it normal for it to develop within 8 hours? I normally have a bit of vaginal discharge, but it seems to have increased the past few days. Any ideas for what it might be? I don't think it is an STD because i havent seen my boyfriend since the summer... so haven't had sex since then ( he has been my only partner). Worried because it came so suddenly and it hurts when i walk (underwear rubs against it).

Im not exactly qualified but don't panic, i think just google it, it may be a cyst and disappear within a matter of weeks or it may just be natural, if it gets any worse talk to your mum or someone that can help, i had a cyst under the skin by my vagina, i told my mum and it made it so much easier as she knew what i was talking about and could help. Nobody is going to force you to go to the doctor about it but if you're worried tell some one or do more research of your own.

Could it possible be a hernia? My daughter was born with one in her stomach when she would laugh the bump or ball would stick out. The doc said she would have to do situps to strengthen her muscles in her stomach. Once they got stronger the ball would go away.
