how is progesterone cream or pills used to delay period?

I'm going to Mexico during my next monthly period. I do not want to deal with pms, cramping etc. I've read many sites that say progesterone will delay it. I need advice on exactly how to do this because I've also read that it can bring on an early period. Please be as specific as possible.

If a person is taking progesterone and then stops taking it, she should get a period from the cessation of the progesterone.  Have you talked to a doctor?  You can't just go get progesterone at the store.
