Hi. I read your posts and wasn't able to offer you any advice because of a closed thread. I understand that people have different opinions as far as medication goes. I, personally, have had great sucess with medications, although it took me a few different tries before I found the right one. But, it also sounds like you could really benefit more from just counseling FIRST, to see if that would help. I'm no doc, but I think the first step is for you to have to WANT to get better. If you WANT to get better you have to figure out where the problems come from. Even if that means going back to your past and discussing it with your doctor. If you're not willing to be open-minded, you won't get better. That's just a plain and simple truth. You've made a very big step by asking us for advice, and that's a step in the right direction. But now, you have to move forward. Even if it's baby steps. Talking with a therapist is the best thing you can do right now. Sometimes just talking to a complete stranger about horrible things in your past can be therapy, even if it's painful to bring up. Just remember, therapists have heard EVERYTHING!
