Two week brown period

Ive been on birth control for a year, and this month switched to a new kind. When switching, I did miss a couple days of the pack, and have missed 1 pill during the month (took it the next morning). The last week of the active pills, I started having a lot of brown discharge (old blood), and then into the week of my period, it stayed mostly brown with a little bit of blood. Should I be concerned of a medical issue or pregnancy? Or could this just be from switch BCs?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It looks like spotting after changing the birth control pills. If you are having signs of pregnancy, I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I think it's breakthrough bleeding and it should resolve soon. If not you may need to switch to a different bcp. If you are concerned you may be pregnant you need to take a hpt.
