A bit concerned

I am 57 years old, have had no period for five years.  I started spotting six weeks ago.  Finally got into my doctor, he found a masses in my right breast.  Could these two issues be connected? Is there a way to tell if it is a cyst in my breast?

Hi there,

In my first reply to you, I wrote hel Hal1956. I'm sure you figured out I
meant to say hello. I have to proof read my comments a little better. Eve

You're very welcome, Hal1956. I'm glad both ultrasounds turned out
well. I'm also relieved to hear that you are going to get off  HRT.
There are theories that continued years of HRT may be connected to
breast cancer, so it's very good that you're getting off HRT. Glad you're
feeling better. I wish you well. Eve

Thanks Eve for your response.  Since posting my question, I have been through ultrasounds, both for the vaginal bleeding and the mass in the breast.  All turned out well.  It seems that I had a change in the lining of of my uterus cause by a hormonal change.  The breast ultrasound was done by a technician and a doctor.  It also showed nothing.  That also was a hormonal issue.  I am on hormone replacement therapy, and have decided  to get off of it.  I was very scared because my symptoms seemed to say something  else to me.  Can you imagine my relief.  So to every woman out there, my advice is to go get checked out, put your mind at ease.  You may be thinking the worst case scenario for nothing.  Thanks again

Hell Hal1956,

I just finished reading your comments. Okay, by mass, do you mean a
lump ? Has your family doctor referred you to a another physician?
A similar thing happened to me over 10 years ago. A lump was discovered
by the physician I had at that time through a routine examination.
My family doctor at that time referred me to a surgeon who specialized
in breast surgery. It took a few weeks to get the appointment, but the
surgeon examined the lump on my left breast and determined it was a
cyst and that the lump was benign . As to whether the two issues are connected, I'm not sure. Did you mention the fact that you started spotting six weeks ago when you went o see your family doctor the last time?
If you didn't, it's really important that you do. Any bleeding when you're
menopausal needs to be investigated too. I wish you well. Eve
