What does it all mean

I'm 23 years old and for the past 5 years I've had to get a pap at least every 6 months, sometimes it would only be 3 months in between. At 13 I had the HPV vaccine but I have NEVER had a pap come back normal and don't have any clue as to why. According to my OB, my results would alternate in between low-grade and atypical. He told me it didn't show that it was precancerous but it didn't show that it wasn't either. I never could get him to take the time out to explain anything to me so I've been going through this for 5 years and still don't really know anything. I was just hoping someone could help me understand. Also, I've had abnormal results CONSISTENTLY for 5 years and I feel more should be instead of just kind of letting it go, with no effort to try and make it better. I've only had 1 colposcopy and it was almost 4 years ago! Should I try to see a different OB to see what they have to say? I'm so lost!

I would suggest seeing another gynecologist for a second opinion.  It is good that you are getting tests since you are constantly displaying atypical results.  However, if you aren't getting answers, this isn't good and you need to find someone who will communicate with you when something's off rather than just say, "This was atypical.  I'll need to see you again in another 3-6 months to ensure nothing has changed."

Hi!  This is bothering you, so you could see another Gyn.
On the other hand, this same thing happened to me, kinda. My Gyn explained it better, so I had less anxiety. I could feel it too.
My story. I went in, but I had felt something on my cervix. It felt raised & small, like a little pimple, but flatter. I figured the position to be at 3:00.
The Gyn gave me my pap & said we'd have to do a pap every 6 months, instead of every 3 months. I asked if he would biopsy, & we discussed that & I also asked if he were to biopsy why not take all of it. I never considered that it went in, always thinking it was on the surface.
He decided to just keep an eye on it. Here's where we are different.
I don't believe I ever had an abnormal pap. Maybe, but it was so long ago, & if so it went back to normal.
It  , the spot, finally went away.  As a side note, in Japan,  I heard Drs don't always confide in patients regarding news.
If you trust Dr. Ok. If you feel you need more explanations, ask one last time & tell them you've decided to see a new Dr, because they won't communicate with you. See if that changes things. Best to you!  Pamela
