post oopherectomy ovaries

I had a hysterectomy with oopherectomy of both ovaries 4 years ago.  A cat scan shows two masses where my ovaries would be (should I still have them)approximately 6cm x 4cm in size.  Is it possible for ovaries to regrow??  What other explanations could there be for these masses?  My ovaries were the size of softballs when removed due to PCOS. I have severe abdominal and lower back pain that meds do not ease.  I am truly at a loss here.  Any info would be helpfull

You might have what is called Ovarian Remnant(sp) Syndrome.  It's where undetectable bits of ovarian tissue remained within your abdomen after surgery allowing for cysts to grow again.  What plans does your doctor have next?  I would assume an removing the masses?  Please let me know.

Hi, I have no advice but wanted to let you know that the Ovarian Cancer site here on Med Help has many women posting there who have seen it all and are quite helpful and supportive.  There is also a Dr on the forum that you may want to ask you question to.

Good luck to you!
