Strange period - advice?

I have been on birth control for the past decade - the pill for 8 and the implanon implant 2, which I had removed in December last year. I was told that it would take time for my body to readjust to being natural, but I have had regular and pleasantly light periods since then.

I recently just started having sex again, though, and had a small incident with a 'lost' condom. We were sure it was pretty safe after we fished it out (there didnt seem to be much spillage), but I had a shower immediately afterwards, and went to the docs first thing in the morning for the morning after pill regardless. That was two weeks ago. The past few days I was due my period, but I havent been bleeding at all, although I have been passing brown discharge and some brown clots like what I would usually get towards the end of my period, but its pretty light compared to what im used to. Im not sure whether I should be worried or not - does that count as a period? Could I be pregnant if I still appear to be passing period waste?

It can delay your period, cause it to be different, or cause it to start immediately after you take it.  It depends on the individual.  You are most likely just experiencing an odd period because of the morning after pill.

The day after pill induces your period so if you were expecting a period this week and took the pill 2 weeks ago, that was your period. The brown spotting you are experiencing now is just old blood or perhaps another period coming. That morning after pill messes with your hormones. I have taken it before as well and I experienced 3 periods in 1 month.. It took a few months to regulate again. But it works differently for different women. Chances of you being pregnant are slim since you did take the morning after pill within 120 hours of the intercourse. You should be fine.
