Weirdly shaped painful lump in pubic area

Okay, so I'm 19 and this is my first time to get this sort of thing.  There is a very painful, weirdly shaped bump/lump on the right side of my private area, hidden in pubic hair. The first day, I thought it was just a pimple of some sort because it was round and I could vaguely see a white head thing. But the next day it started to feel deformed. It's not round anymore, but rather an odd shape. Sort of like a ragedy oval shape. I have tried researching on it but all I get is in-grown hair or some sort of boil. The closest was the boil. The way it was described kind of sounded like what I have. It is extremely painful and sensitive (I can barely walk). I'm absolutely sure that it's not some kind of STD or anything because I haven't been sexually active for about a year now. I don't really want to go to the doctors so I'm looking for some other solution, but if worse comes to worse then I will go. I'm just worried it could be something else harmful. Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance.

I'm a 15 year old guy and I have the same problem. I have this lump thing thats ON my pubic area. I can't really see it well because its covered with hair. It's under the skin and it hurts when you touch it. It's alsof a little red. It doesnt have a whitehead like a zit does so I can't really pop it. It's kind of oval shaped. I started to feel it like 3-4 days ago and it seems bigger to me right now. Does anyone know what this is? Should I be concerned?

Off you go to the doctor!  May be it is a boil or abcess which needs lancing or you may need some antibiotics.  In any case, its obviously pretty sore so see a doctor to get it fixed up.  If its in the region of your pubic hair it could be an ingrown hair which has become infected... or it could be a swollen lymphnode, depending on where it is.
Good luck,
let us know how you get on

I would also like to add that now that it's larger, there is no white head left. It's not red. To me, it seems like just normal skin color. It's hard and just feels like something solid under my skin. Still VERY painful to touch! Please help! Again, thanks in advance.
