What could be causing reoccurring BV?

I am getting frequently reoccurring BV/yeast infections for about the past 2 years and it is driving me crazy!

The problem is mostly BV but there seems to always be some amount of yeast with it. Each time I go to the doctor for treatment and have had flagyl, and Cleocin. After treatment the BV always seems to go away, at least the burning and itching symptoms go away.

Each time I take the doctor's advice to prevent future problems; go pee and wipe immediately after sex, stop shaving (boo to that one!!). But the BV keeps coming back. My doctor has even suggested that my vagina is allergic to my husband's semen! Is that possible? And if so, why only in the past 2 years when we have been exclusive partners for 7 years?

We're trying to get pregnant and this is becoming such a problem because it seems when we start having sex more often I get BV and then we have to stop.

Please help!! What could be causing reoccurring BV?

Did your husband get treated with antibiotics at the same time that you did?  My doctor did that the one time we had it, saying that it can be passed back and forth.

That use to happen to me and I thought there was something wrong with me. I had to change the panties that I was wearing.....I use hypo-allergenic(didnt spell that right) soap on my vagina only, I used panty sheilds for about 2weeks until my vagina and panties got use to eahother..Cotton panties only...no perfumes powers nothing at all on your vagina. before I got married I just didnt have sex because I found out that I am allergic to condums..I know this may sound weird but BV was apart of my life for like 4months and I did everthing possible and it worked.  My husband has to use hypo soap as well no perfumed soaps on his penis either. Oh tell hubby not to pee right before you have sex. We just have sensitive vajayjays. LOL!! Good Luck!!!

i think flagyl n clindamycin is not the best chice for treating it..rather flagyl is not the drug of choice at all in vaginosis..mayb the bacteria have become resistant to it cuz u have been prescribed for it often.. causing recurrency..take co-trimoxazole talblets comes in the market with brand name:

bactrim ,septra..take it 2 times a day till the vaginitis disappears

n if there is fungus also  use butaconazole cream n applyy in itno the vaigina that somes with barnd names of:

Gynazole 1, Femstat Prefill, Femstat 3, Femstat, Mycelex-3

ul b fine
do tell me ur respone to these
t.c
regards!
