Whats going on down there?

.Hi there, I am not so clued up with this sort of thing.  I was suppose to have my lady's time of the month last week and started wednesday but it was more like spotting and if there was any blood it was very little. The cheapest time of the month ever hehehehehe. i was extremely moody and short-tempered the week before and during the week and have mellowed down this week.  And last week i was craving food like it was going out of fashion, toasted tomato and cheese sandwiches and mac donalds Bic Mac and chocolate.  And i ate until i was stuffed and normally i cant eat a whole big mac meal thus having leftovers! the monday before my lady stuff started my breasts looked like cannon balls and they were even firmer than usual by the time my lady stuff was due. i also had faint lower back pain.  Now i know certain symptoms do occur close to your period and during ovulation so that i can bare with but to me it just felt weird and on top of it my period has never been so weak!  I have had a lot of stress and i was extremely down over the festive season so that can also contribute to it and i was also told that my cravings can be a result of something my body is lacking. I have also bad cramps which i never had before.  Was uncomfortable which is normal but this was sharp and consistent pains.  any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thank you in advance! .

Read the instructions, and use concentrated, first-morning urine.  Otherwise the test is just wasted.  Good luck again.

Thanks Annie. I havent got a home based test on me right now but i will do one on saturday morning even if the doctor does one tomorrow just to make sure.  I wasn't aware of more acurate readings in the morning so thank you, i really do appreciate the advice.  Will let you know how it goes!

Hate to say it, but if the doctor does a urine-based test, you would get a more reliable result on your own by using an "early results" test with first-morning urine.  By the time you get to the doctor, urine is usually pretty dilute, and their pee tests often aren't the most sensitive around anyway.

Good luck!

Sorry, maybe I missed it, but did you ever take a pregnancy test?

Thank you for commenting! My boyfriend and i have been quite safe when it comes to intercourse.  i am on the pill and he pulls out just before he gets there.  we weren't very active last month.  I havent taken a pregnancy test yet as i am going to my gp this friday.  i was talking to a lady and she said when she changed her pill, it messed up her hormones and she also suggested that i could be in the same boat. I changed my pill in the beginning of last year as this pill is believed to be better than the previous one that i was on.  I havent had any problems since i have been on it and my period is controlled - no funny surprises or anything. But the past couple of months i have had horrible pains by my ovaries and sometimes i am out of action but this has never happened before.  I am a high school teacher teaching an international cambridge curriculum so there is a lot of pressure and stress towards the end of the year  and i am also Bi-polar but very mild and i am on meds so i cant really blame that.  i havent felt so crap in ages and with my period being so strange, ive really become stressed because i dont know whats going on with my body and i hate feeling like this.

Is there a chance that you may be pregnant? Have you taken a pregnancy test? There could be other reasons such as stress and hormonal imbalance but to be sure you really need to discard the possibility of being pregnant.
