I'm 31 years old with 2 children ( 4y / o and 10 y / o ). I've always had a regular period that starts every 30 days and lasts 4 - 5 days. I've had a tubal ligation 4 years ago so no birth control pills. I'm now on my 11th day of my period and it's med/heavy flow. I have lower back pain and sharp pain to my right lower quadrant every time I stand from a seated position along with cramps. Any ideas as to what is going on? My insurance at my new job doesn't start until next week and I hate to go to the emergency room if it's not something urgent but I'm getting pretty concerned at this point.
Im 27yrs and have a child but before that i got pregnant since the age of 141/2 I started my problems with my menstraul cycle and im overweight but sometimes i dont have a menstrual period for almost a year but for right now i have almost 5 months that i dont have a period.
my period has been and then restarted about two days later, it is now on its second week and is more heavey than usual.
Have you continued to take your pills as directed? (i.e. finishing the entire pack, which includes 1 week of placebo pills and then starting a new pack)
If so, then I would hold out a bit longer before getting too concerned. It can take up to 3 months for your body to adjust to the pills.
If you're bleeding abnormally heavy and/or passing large clots, then yes, go back to the doctor. Otherwise just keep taking your pills and see what happens next month.
