Oh goodness! I wish I could help you there! I was so clueless about my body when I was young! (and it was a long time ago that I was young, as well) Maybe it is just your hymen. You definitely shouldn't feel stupid or embarrassed to ask about it. But I understand it would need to be someone that you were very close with and comfortable with to be able to ask about such a sensitive subject. Is there any way you can get in to see a gynecologist? Even if they just do an external exam, they might be able to put your mind at ease.
It's like, covering the hole. Is it my hymen, or something? It's all bumpy though. I'm too afraid to stick my finger any further to see if it's actually covering the hole, because I'm a virgin and that would hurt.
I'm so freaked out right now. That ridged bump thing, upon further investigation, I think it's on the opening of my vagina, because the hole itself is riiiight next to it. It's hard, like bone? I guess. I don't think this is a yeast infection anymore. I don't have that much discharge anymore, but my vagina is still kind of sore. It feels much better, but this bump has me freaking out. I can't tell if it's raised or what. I'm really young. I don't know how to tell this to anyone without feeling really stupid or embarrassed.
Now that I think of it, it might have been the opening. But why is it so.. ridgey? I'm not sure how to describe it. It's just normally much smoother.
I'm wondering if what you were feeling was just the opening to the vagina. If you felt pain when your nail touched it, then that makes me think that was what you touched. Your symptoms sound like a yeast infection, but if you've never had one before, it would be a good idea to see a dr to confirm the diagnosis. Since you're a virgin, it would be a virtual impossibility for it to be any kind of STD, but better safe than sorry, I say. As the other poster mentioned, your period will come when it's going to come regardless of whether you have a yeast infection. Good luck!
Yes your period will still come
Just to add, I'm taking pills to help stop an ear infection, if that has anything to do with it.
