back labor

Hey wonderful ladies! I haven't been on-line in a while but I had a question. I am having "back labor". I will be 31 weeks and it is so painful at times! Doctor didn't seem too worried! Has anyone else had this?

I had back labor but that was at full term.  They said the back of the baby's head was against my spine instead of the face.  Also, my uterus is retroverted.  Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Good luck and meds, PLENTY of meds!!  LOL

bookerswife,  are you sure it's back labor?  If you're actually in labor,  I'm very surprised your docs aren't REALLY concerned - you're early.

Have they checked to make sure whether your cervix is still closed?

Yes they checked and Cervix is closed, soft but closed! This is mt 3rd and I am sure it is not labor. My back just hurts at times so bad! He said something about how the baby was laying but did not do an u/s.

Have you tried exercises,  or positions to get the baby off your back?

If you get on all 4's,  like a dog,  and arch your back that will help stretch out the muscles.  On all fours,  you can even put your shoulders and head down on a pillow and rest - like,  with your hips in the air - and the weight of the baby will be off your back.

Best wishes with feeling better!
