birth control pill

I recently started taking Desogen, the 28 day pack, about 8 days ago. While my doctor explained I could either start the day of my period or the Sunday after, she also said I could start taking it that day if I wanted to. Will this affect my period this month?  Will I have my period like normal or will it just start while after I take the last 7 pills?

You should have 3 weeks of active pills- and then 7 non active or placebo pills. Your period should come within the first few days of the placebo pills. That is how is usually always worked for me. Hope this helped!!

Torque is right.  All the start date determines is when your period will start during your "off" week.  I always preferred starting on Sunday for two reasons...it's easier to remember, and you get your period by every fourth Tuesday or Wednesday and it's over by the weekend.  If you decide to start your first pack on a Thursday, for example, you'll get your period every fourth Saturday and Sunday, which is a nuisance.  Plus most brands have their packs lined up to start on Sundays, which again, makes it easier.

Not sure I worded my question correctly lol...basically I want to know since I started the pill 2 weeks before I was even due for my period will this delay my period until I get to the last pills in the pack?
