brown spotting, clots and cramping for 3 weeks, am i having a miscarriage

I have been spotting brown discharge, clotting and cramps for 3 weeks now, before this happened I had the worst PMS I have had (depression). When this all started it was a lot of brown discharge enough to soak a pad. this all happened 6 days before my period was meant to start. I went to the doctor and she said this is completely normal as I missed 2 contraceptive pills within a month and the bleeding from that is just coming out. she said to not have a period this month and to carry on taking the next packet of contraceptive. however the brown discharge, clotting and cramps has not stopped although it is becoming lighter I have had to wear a panty liner every day. I then went to the doctors again and he was convinced i was pregnant, I took a pregnancy test and I'm not, so I'm back to the start again and have no idea what is going on, I am googling and most of my symptoms link to a miscarriage ( brown discharge, clotting and cramping) please help me to understand what this is
thanks x

You're pregnant. It happened to me a month ago. I was bleeding brownish and spotting and cramping...either it is a miscarriage or a implantation bleeding. I am still pregnant after I have been bleeding on and off 6 days ago. Just confusing but I just have to wait for a few more weeks to have another check up.
