can u get pregnant 3 weeks after dnc

maybe some of u ladies can help me out there I had a DNC May 4th 09 I was 10 weeks I had 2 have one because a baby never formed just the sack the surgery went great I hurt a good bit the first week but I really didn't bleed alot just ailttle the first couple of days I havn't had my period yet.well I took a pregnancy test yesterday May 26th 09 which is 3 weeks after having my dnc and it was positive I can't say we havn't been trying cause we have is there anyway that I could really be pregnant so soon or could it just be my hormone levels  that are still there please help!

Thanks alot I have been like stressing out not that I was pregnant but it's still to soon I did go back to the doctor's office after I had my dnc last week they didn't do any blood work they know that we are trying again he just said after I get my period then I will ovulate so I am just guessing as I go I will be sure to call and see if they will check my levels thanks girls

you should have gone back to the doctors after and had your blood test done to see if your hcg levels fully went down.

lisas right it migh be from your previous pregnancy but either way....call your doctors and give them a call. you should have had an apointment after your dnc

The chances are, it will be your hormone levels from previous pregnancy. You will not be able to get pregnant again until those previous hcg levels have returned to normal. When the hormone levels return to normal, only then will you ovulate. I think 10-12wks is the time where those hormone levels reach their peak so they can take up to 6wks possibly longer to come down.
I could be wrong but my sister had the same scenario and thats what she was told, in fact, her hormone levels didn't come completly down until 8wks after her d&c.
