Birth control, sex and period

So last week me and my fiance were having sex and the condom broke and he ejaculated in me. I am on the pill and have taken it all the time and never missed. I started a new pack right after I finished the last one to prevent my period. However, it did not work because a few days after we had sex I started my period. Does this mean I am not pregnant or should I wait until the next time I get my period to know for sure. Doesnt it take a week or something for it to implant? Thanks.

Have you or anyone you know had any experience with LYBREL?  I posted a question on the Maternal/Child Health Forum but no replies.  I am considering it but wonder just how much bleeding happens with LYBREL

You're fine. The pill is 99% effective, and most women in monogamous relationships use it alone. As for your period, sometimes skipping a period works, and sometimes it doesn't.

If you want to skip your period, you could talk to your doctor about switching to Seasonale. Or, you could wait a couple of months, and start on Lybrel--no more periods at all :-)
