Tampons first time

I am 13 and I have to start using tampons because my period is coming right when I'm going to church camp. I am really scared. How do I get over that? I don't know how to put them in. What if I do it wrong? Does it hurt?

I would ask your mom and try using tampons before you leave even if you do not have your period. While at camp use pads and if you have to swim put the tampons in. At your age or may hurt a little bit but you will get used to them soon. Make sure you change them frequently so you don't get Toxic shock syndrome

Yes! You can swim with a tampon in, they even make sports ones that are made for moving around.

I use instead menstrual cups.  You can get them at Walmart.  I think is better than tampons, you only need to change it every 12 hrs.

Can you go swimming with them?

Or you can still use pads unless you need to go swimming

If you really don't want to use a tampon then you can use tablets prescriped by the doctor which will stop your period. But it can affect your period cycle xx
