I have mid back pain and pain in my ribs. I am at 25 weeks .  The back pain hurts really bad and am worried about the rib pain on both sides. hurts more on the left side and wraps around towards my heart. I told my doctor about back pain and she didn't really say anything, she doesn't have much to say about anything i mention to her...

im very sure you have SPD symptoms. I'm 41 and half weeks pregnant (yeah still pregnant) had those pains since 20weeks, seems like sometimes you can't walk or can't stand for a while, when u walk about 15mins u get cramping feeling between you legs or one or the other side, sometimes u feel grinding bones (but that appeared a bit later around 32 weeks pregnancy) when i was 38 weeks pregnant i felt amazing, no pain nothing i guess baby dropped and changed position. but now again at 40 weeks until now pains are back and worse. i am very tired of being pregnant and i cant wait anymore. if you want to know about SPD more just type in google - SPD in pregnancy

good luck

Call the doctors exchange. A doctor will get back to you.  I would rather play it safe than sorry, wouldn't you?  You don't want to get to the hospital dilated at 8, and for them to tell you it is too late for an epidural....You body has already begun preparing itself for labor by the information you gave me about your cervix.  You don't know how your body acts during labor, because you have never done this before...Personally, I would call the doctor, see what he says, and then you can sleep with some peace of mind.  Let me know....

Usually labor pains (in my experience) feel better or are more manageable when walking or moving.

When time did this begin? Do you have anyone there with you?

I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks, they gave me a pill to take every 4-6 hours, to stop me from dilating, that worked for awhile, and then I started to have cramps, I went to the doctor and they told me that I was having contractions.. so they told me to stop taking the pill, and let nature takes it course.. now 34 weeks and 4 days.
good luck, and hope everything turns out okay:)
another thing, the doctor found out why I went into preterm labor is because I have a cyst on my right kindey:( so you may want to get checked out, it could be nothing, or it could be somethng.. good luck!

Ok, now I just read in another post where you said you are 38 weeks pregnant....if that is true...your safe.  Yes, you could be in labor...do you have any stomach cramps yet?  No water leakage, or spotting?  Is pain severe, moderate?

p.s....you are not in late pregnancy.  You said in your other post that you are 28 weeks.  You have not even begun your third trimester.  Delivering your baby now will be extremely detrimental to their health, and there is NO WAY that the lungs are properly developed.  The chance of survival without problems isn't even high.  Please, if you think there is a chance that you are in premature labor, call your doctors exchange.  They will simply listen to your symptoms, and direct you where you need to go.

I just responded to your other post.  Back pain and down the legs does concern me, and could be premature labor.  You absolutely don't want to deliver a baby at 28 weeks.  I would contact a dr.  How severe is the pain from 1-10?  10 being the worst.
