itchy redness.

my vigina has been itchy for awhile now.
i had the itching for a awhile then it went away.
i started my period then it came back.
first i thought i was alergic to the tamponds but ive tried other brands and it still does the same thing.
sometimes it's really dry down there and it itches more or it gets really wet.
i've always kind of had alot of discharge even before the itching.
and at the bottom it looks like a little rash is down there.
but its red swolen (i think from itching it) and itchy.
what chould it be?

This disease can also cause unexplained itching, as though you are allergic to something. It's very important that you get tested for everything. If all tests are negative, start pushing the Behcet's issue.

There is a rather serious autoimmune disease called Behcet's Syndrome. This disease's initial symptoms closely resemble the herpes virus, causing vaginal sores, fissures, cuts, boils, or folliculitis (ingrown hairs). Other symptoms develop years later, so it is very important that you find out just what it is that is causing your symptoms. Don't be too quick to brush it off as nothing, Behcet's disease affects people of every age and every race. Also, be careful choosing a doctor, you want to see someone who know's enough to tell you what Behcet's Syndrome is all about, if they don't know that, they don't know enough to help you. It is not contagious, it just happens to people because of something in their enviroment. Visit the American Behcet's Disease Association website message board for more information.
