non stop period

hi, i have had this problem for  few years now. i have a non stop period. most of the time its very light but sometimes its heavy but it is not painfull at all, now and then it stops but only for a few days. before this started happening my period was regular and usualy heavy and painfull at times.  i went to my doctor and she gave me  a swab to test for sti  and a blood test for hormones. everything came back clear and normal. and after that she fid not give me a further appointment to work out what it is. now im too worried to go back because i feel it may be a waste of time. i am overweight.. very, which of course is very dangerous and unhealthy wichbinknow can affect periods. i am currently losing weight. could my period problems be because of my wright????

Doesn't sound like it is related to your weight.  The only condition that comes to mind in regards to weight and periods is PCOS and usually you aren't having periods at all or not very often with that condition.

First things that came to mind were Fibroids and Endometriosis.  This can be other things as well.

I will agree with TQG.......get a second opinion from another physician IF you think you are going to be wasting your time with this current physician OR return back to this current physician.

MORE investigation needs to be done.

Another thing that can give a nonstop period is a uterine fibroid.  Get an ultrasound or even an MRI of the uterus, to rule that out.

You should either go back and see the same doctor or go for a second opinion to another gynecologist.  You may need to get on something like birth control to help regulate your periods.  I find it hard to believe something's not out of whack with your hormones for you to be having this nonstop period.  Weight can cause issues, but it's usually not this sort of an issue.
