missed last depo shot and early signs o pregnancy

I have been on depo since feb 2005 and had my last needle sept 2005. December 15 i started to get heavy bleeding the time when i was due for my next needle. the bleeding stoped around december 25, since then around the middle of january i experienced two days of some light brown spotting only when i wiped. i've been having some early signs of pregnancy like being tired, fuller breast, frequent trips to the bathroom, neausa, headache, and bloating.  Also whats odd is i've been having cramps, usually i get them when i have my period.  Still no sign of my period. As you can see i have a few question
I did a hpt last week and it was negative.
1.how long does it take for your regular period to return.
2. Could i be pregnant, and how will i know when to do a pregnancy test
3. Are these symptoms of coming off depo

i'm having the same kinda deal going on. last month i got my shot one day after i was supposed to. they told me i would be fine, but then asked me if i had unprotected sex the night before which i had. now it's one month and 2 days later, and my boobs are bigger, and i'm having spotting now too. it's freaking me out and i know its too early to take a test so i have no idea what to do.

wow, Im going through the same problem i missed my depo shot March 15-25 and I've had symptoms of pregnancy which is extremly early to me. Only difference is that i feel a flutter in my tummy. I have two children so I know what a baby kick feels like. Hopefully it's just my imagination. I went to the doc , i gotta wait 2 weeks cause i had unprotected sex. So i'm just waiting, but  AndiJ.78 your advice put me to some peace of mind cause that sounds logical.

I went through the same thing with Depo....My last shot was Aug 2004 and I went on BC shortly after that and then stopped taking it in Aug/Sept 2005 because my husband and I are TTC.  However I have not had a normal period since the end of August.  I had one in Dec and one in Jan because I took Provera.  If you dont get a period in the next couple of days you may want to talk to your Dr about Provera to jump start you period...if you are pregnant it will not cause you to have a period.  But the Depo shot can stay in your system for 12-24 months and I think that is part of my problem with me not having a period.  Best of Luck! Have you been missing pills often? If so and if you have been sexually active, you could be pregnant. If you have bleeding heavily for ten days straight, there is cause for concern. If you are pregnant and are bleeding this much, it sound like a possiblke miscarriage.

I would not wait 3 weeks to be seen. Can you find a planned parenthood or similar clinic to be seen at? If you have health insurance, many have provisions for emergency care or care while on vacation.

Good luck!

Have you taken a home pregnancy test? That may be the first logical step. In the meantime, if you plan on having sex, use a back up method like condoms. Has the bleeding been heavy for the full 10 days? If so, I would suggest gettng it checked out soon. I have never been on birth control pills, so I am not sure what would be considered a normal amount of bleeding but I would have to think that this is not considered normal by any means.

Anytime you have bleeding or any other symptoms that are out of the ordinary, it is best to check with your doctor. People can have vastly different reactions to medications and what may be normal for some. some would consider the same thing to be abnormal for them.

Hi,

Sorry, because since the questions are limited in the forum I had do it this way since my question is quite similar to yours.
I have on pills yasmin and missed a few in between days and had intercourse during that time. My problem is that I started bleeding the next day which was 21th my cycle is always on time and this time it was 2 weeks early. The bleeding is very light but its not like normal blood, its more like clot of blood dark red in color. This has been going on for 10 days now. I dont know if I am pregnant or not! I have stopped taking pills 4 days ago not sure what was going on. Please can anyone tell me the changes of me being pregnant or if its normal for a bleeding to go for that length and why that color?

Thanks alot

Generally if you are having that many symptoms, the HPT should show a postive. The above poster had some great advice, seek out a blood test if unsure or wait another week and try another HPT.

I had similar experiences coming off of depo. It take a while to adjust and get back to "normal" If you have any questions, definitely consult your doctor as they will be better able to address specific questions.

From all I've read on this site about coming off Depo, your body can do some crazy things, so just about anything can be a symptom of coming off.  It can have some nasty effects.

The pg symptoms you describe also sound a lot like PMS symptoms, so it's hard to tell.  I think all you can do at this point is wait 1 week and take another hpt if your period doesn't arrive.  A more aggressive approach that might suit you is to have your doctor do a blood test.

Good luck sweetie!
