muscle spasm and discomfort

I have muscle spasm in or around the ribs on both sides (in the front under the breast), it feels like a ball rolling. I only know that when I relax and Stretch my arm (the side where the knot is) over my head and wait till it goes away, any help, Thank you Donna

HEY ..I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER!AS FOR ME IM FEELING LIKE ****!I HAVE THOSE KNOTS UNDER MY RIBCAGE AND I HAVE SOME IN MY BACK UP THE LEFT SIDE.I AM DOING RESEARCH AND AM TRYING TO LINK ALL THE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG WITH ME..LET ME EXPLAIN..FRO ABOUT A FEW YEARS I HAVE BEEN SFUFFERING WITH ALOT OF DIFFERENT SYMPTOMS.I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO WORK,MY BACK HURTS ALOT ,IVE BEEN GETTIN EPIDURALSETC..RECENTLY I HAVE STARTED LOSING MY VISION,STAY THIRSTY ALOT OF OTHER SYMPTOMS !I HAVE BEEN TO NEURO OPTHAMOLOGIST,NEUROOLOGIST,ETC ..IVE BEEN TOLD I HAVE LUPUS,MS ETC..WELL LAST NIGHT MY BEST FRIEND IS A DIABETIC AND SHE TAKES MY BLOOD SUGAR AND ITS 353!YEA..ALL THIS **** I HAVE ALL THE INFLAMMATION THE EYE **** THE KNOTS IS BECAUSE OF DIABETES ..I HAVE HAD BLOOD TESTS FOR YEARS AND THEY HAVE JUST NOW FOUND IT SO BE SURE YOU ARE TESTED OVER AND OVER!THANKS

The Vagas nerve runs through there.  It also runs around the heart and down past the stomach.  When I used to get colitis, it felt like a muscle spasm.  Mylanta stopped it.  If it isn't from that, Mylanta won't help, but it might be worth a try.
