ovarian cysts

About 10 weeks ago I started getting pains in my lower right abdomen. I went to my gyno who told me I had a cyst that ruptured and alot of fluid left that would go away eventually. She told me to come back right after I get my next period because the lining of my uterus was a little thicker than it should be. I went back and the lining of my uterus was normal but the ultrasound tech said I had a lot of cysts on my right ovary and a few on my left. When I went back for a consultation with my gyno she put me on birth control and said to wait 3 to 5 months and if the pain was unbearable we would discuss surgery. It has been 6 weeks and the pain seems to just get worse and move all around. I have pain on my right side (upper and lower abdomen) and horrible pain in my back and right leg. I am worried that the cysts might be getting bigger, or there is something else wrong like appendix, gallbladder, etc. Any incite would be greatly appreciated.

Although they didn't mention that you were pregnant it could still mean you are pregnant.  If you are early on in your pregnancy they may not have seen it.  I had taken a  HPT and done the blood work when I went in for an ultrasound.  I knew I was pregnant but I was  only a week or two pregnant and the technician had to really search and then had to do an internal ultra sound (not sure if that's how you refer to it) and after searching she finally saw it.  If it's really early on it is likely too small to see.

I went to the dr yesterday and she is going to do another ultrasound to see what is going on with the cysts. If all looks well she wants me to get a laparoscopy do try and identify the cause of my pain. I hope it doesn't come to that. I don't want surgery unless absolutely necc. The dr is leaning towards endometriosis i think. I am leaning more towards polycystic ovaries considering my 1st two ultrasounds. .................... to be honest i am at a complete loss. my symptoms are not typical of anything i've read so far. Hope all goes well with you. I'll keep you posted. Keep me posted.

I had an ultrasound 7 days ago my doctor calls me and tell me that i have a cyst on my ovary. And now my period has not appeared for 4 days now. My question is wouldn't the doctor see a pregnancy?

I hope you read this since your initial post was awhile ago.  I'm going through the same thing right now.  I almost went to ER today because of the sharp pain and back pain as well as cramping.  I'm like freaking out wondering what it could be.  I'm going to the GYN tomorrow.  I was curious if you've gone back for more answers, or if you are feeling better.
