ovulation pain after cyst removal

My 15 year old had a large cyst removed from her ovary 4 weeks ago today.  Two days ago she started feeling pain again and says that she felt exactly like she did before surgery.  We were convinced that she had another cyst but she had an ultrasound today and they say there isn't one there. That is good news.. BUT, my girl is still in a lot of pain.  The Dr. said it was because she ovulated on the side where she had had the surgery.  Has this happened to anyone?  Is this normal? My girl is hurting so much - she thinks the Dr. is wrong and that there is another cyst. Could the Dr. be wrong????  I can't stand to see her hurting like this.  Thanks for your comments.

That should put things to sleep in terms of ovulation long enough to let the ovary heal.

Thanks for your comments.  At least I can rest knowing that this is 'normal' pain.  She is taking hydrocodone but it makes her feel sick and shaky.  Does anyone know how long this pain should last?  She missed a month of school last month and is now on her 3rd dayoff this month. Her Dr. is putting her on birth control pills to prevent future problems.

Ultrasound would have absolutely seen a cyst.  Yes, it could very well be the fact that she ovulated on the side that had the surgery.  Ovaries can be as sensitive as testicles, and hers is probably pretty darn hurting from having had an operation.  She should be on hydrocodone; I don't usually recommend painkillers but when one has an ovarian pain, and gets some effective pain relief, one feels like kissing the doctor.
