post myomectomy surgery

I had a myomectomy surgery 3 months ago for a uterine fibroid tumor.
Two month before surgery I was on Lupron to stop the menstruation. I understood that Lupron stops menstruation for 3 months.
But I still haven't got my period yet since.
What is going on with me? What should I do?
Please help me. Thank you for any advise and help.

I am 2 weeks post abdomonal myomectomy(DEC 6 was surgery)..and feeling really good...spent 2 days in hospital..I had 2 submucosal fibroids(one 4cm on back area on left near where tubes come in and one larger(was as big as 9cm) on front top of uterus on the right--both were degenerated--which is what caused my miscarriage) removed due to repeat miscarriages.  Day of surgery in recovery wasn't bad...but prepare yourself for the day after--that was my worst day.  I did have to stay in hospital until I passed gas and moved bowel on my own at home right after that--not uncomfortable at all.  Take the colace(stool softener) they give to you the entire time you are on the pain meds--it helps!  Once I was home I started to improve quickly and just yesterday 2 wks post op, I went out and did errands on my own.  I do find that I get tired very easily even when I hardly do anything but just listen to your body and rest when you need to.  I agree with others who said everyone is different and everyone heals differently so be patient with yourself and your body.  Saw my Dr a week after surgery and she was very pleased with my progress and healing...no stitches to remove they just dissolve.  Now I just wait until Feb to start TTC again!  I just started my period right on time after the surgery and it seems same as previous to surgery(I never had fibroid symptoms--just miscarriages from them)...crampy and making me tired but flow so far on day 2 not bad at all.  I wish all of you luck and hope everything goes well!

Hey dnc77, congratulations for the successful op.  i am so glad it turned out well.  By the way i am 32 yrs old  Yes coughing is going to be a very painfull at least these first few weeks, but my doctor encouraged me to cough once in a while it actually strengthens the abdominal area. Going to places can be tricky especially for me as i was getting tired very quickly and even now i am still getting tired so quickly. Sleeping can be a bit painful so try putting a pillow in between your legs or underneath your buttocks.  It has worked wonders for me.  I am taking walks 3 times a day, just very short walks to get my body to heal quickly.  i am still having a bit of pain urinating and feeling pain in my abdominal but doc says its due to catheta.  i know the worst is behind us and now am looking forward to starting my family as i have never been pregnant and have been married for 6 years now.  Am believing the best for myself and all you ladies out there.

God bless

I am so glad I found this forum. I am 14 days post op. I had the myoectomy due to pain and infertility issues. I had the lupron shot two months prior which was supposed to have stopped the blood flow to the fibroids but also gave me menopause symptoms and stopped my period. I started my period yesterday and am concerned as its a very heavy flow and the cramping is more than usual in addition to the discomfort I'm already having through recovery. Is this normal? Are tampons okay to use or should I stick to pads? Good luck to all in recovery.

Hello all. I am 3 days post op and I'm learning that I definitely have to take it easy. Being a person whom never had surgery before this,  really didn't realize the amount of discomfort I was going to feel.  So now I'm home taking it easy.  Now I'm on my period and I'm miserable.  But expect things will get better as the days goes by. But I would like to know how long will the healing process take before I can go back to work or at least be a little more mobile?  I  am getting up to move around to keep my circulation going.  Does anyone have any advice that made things easier during this recovery period?  Thank you
