sex/pregnancy question

Hi, I'm 28 w/ cystic fibrosis.  I know that my chances of pregnancy are very slim, however I would like to get pregnant someday.  My husband has a long penis and often hits my uterus wall during sex.  It is a little uncomfortable, but not usually unbearable.  A few times he has hurt me and we've had to stop sex.  Maybe it's just a coincidence, but often when we have sex just before my period is due, right after intercourse I get terrible cramps that last about 20 min. and the next morning I start my period.
My question is: Is this normal?  Should I worry that, should by some chance I actually get pregnant, it could harm (or cause my body to abort) the fetus?

I was 5 months pregnant with my first child and after sex/orgasm I went into premature labour and had to go to hospital and have drugs to stop it progressing. It worked and now he's 21. So it can happen but it's not something that will happen with every pregnancy or every time you have sex. Also have you tried using your hand to gauge how far your husband can penetrate you, that way you can be sure he doesn't hit your cervix. Good Luck and I hope you do become pregnant in the near future. :)

I agree with the others. Also, anytime my period is due and my dh and I have sex, it starts the next day!

It's really common to have cramps after intercourse, usually it's just the penis hitting the cervix. It can cause spotting and cramping. I went through this for a little while with my current boyfriend, he just had to be a little more careful with me. If you got pregnant it probably wouldn't harm the fetus. I've never really heard of sex inducing a period, but hey..anything is possible! If you're worried about conceiving, have you talked with your doctor about it? They could probably put your fears to rest. Good luck!

no it wont , i have this problem occasionally its just a case of getting a comfortable position !  i used to work on an adult cf ward and i know a few women with children there ,so its not impossible as long as you are quite fit and monitored carfully and you would have to have c section to prevent extra strain on your heart and lungs  .i wish you all the best and  good luck x x
