It's hard to tell from your description, but maybe lichen sclerosis could be described as "a whitish/cream colored thing." You might google it to see if it seems similar to what you have. The way to get it diagnosed for sure is to see your ob/gyn.
Could it be a cyst? https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/bartholin-cyst/symptoms-causes/syc-20369976 These can be just inside your vagina and sometimes are white?
