I believe there is an over the counter test you can take to tell you if its yeast or not....ask the pharmacist

Hi there. Want to clarify that you do not take flagyl for yeast infections, as that is for bacterial issues.  But do agree that you should see your doctor again for further diagnosis.  good luck

Hi there.  Well, I'm not sure what 'creams' you are referring to.  NEVER douche or clean up inside the vagina as that actually compounds the problem.  Monostat is a medication that comes in an egg shape that you insert into the vagina.  I like the one day version as it has the highest concentration of medicine.  However, it takes 2 full days to work.  This is if it is a yeast infection.  yeast infections are known for thick, cottage cheese like discharge, extreme itch and discomfort and a yeasty smell (not that unpleasant).  Bacterial infections don't usually itch but have a foul odor.

What doctors do is swab a patient and look at it under a microscope.  They then can immediately tell what it is. If a doctor looked and said it is normal, well.  What can I say.  You can get a different opinion.

Women do have various odors (but shouldn't be foul) and secretions that ARE normal.  Itching can happen from time to time---  some women even get eczema in that area and dermatitis of unknown origins.

So, talk to your mom about your next step.  She should be able to help you.  Wear loose underwear, make sure it is cotton and change any time it gets damp from things like sweat.  Eat probiotic yogurt or take a probiotic supplement.  These things help.
good luck
