why do periods exist??
I think that i am not the only girl who says this WHY DO PERIODS EXIST????i mean..yeah you are not pregnant,you should celebrate not die becaise of those cramps
All female mammals of reproductive maturity have periods, unless she has been spayed. They're just typically shorter in length.
This doesn't answer anything but hOW UNFAIR IS IT THAT WE'RE (probably) THE ONLY SPECIES OF FEMALES THAT GET THEM?

Hi, you're frustrated because of the cramps? Try Advil or Nuprin, they are antiprostaglandins and they are great for period cramps.
fertility is the circle of life!! without shedding your womb lining, you wouldnt have a healthy and habitable womb for if you are one day ready for a baby to grow for 9 months inside you. Try taking medication for the cramps or a hot water bottle. Welcome to womanhood!!! :)

Periods happen as a result of hormones released from a gland at the base of your brain called the pituitary gland. These hormones cause an egg to be released. At the same time, the lining of your uterus (or womb) is becoming thicker – like a soft and spongy bed, ready for the egg.
If you have sex while ovulating, you have a good chance of getting pregnant – unless you use birth control. If you don't have sex, the egg does not get fertilised and the uterus lining starts to break down. The blood and tissue from the lining comes out and that is your period.
