Mammo/Birad 4B

Coming from a family history of  breast cancer, a Grandmother and two Aunts and having extremely dense breast with fibrocyctic breast changes I started having Mammo's early.  My last Mammo has me concerned.  I have read the post and have examined the Birads scales but my results are alittle different.  Can anybody clarify what BIRADS 4B means?

This discussion is related to Mammogram 'Birad Category' meaning.

Thank you for clarifing the ABC from the Radiologist. All I know is that everything has been in a "whirl" for the last couple of weeks.  Having all these different Mammo's, Ultrasounds and Doctors...Monday, is the date of biopsies.  Once again Thank you.

If you have researched then you no doubt know that a BIRADS 4 indicates the need for a biosy. The sub-categories A,B,C are merely used to indicate different degrees of suspicion ... mild, moderate and highly suspicious for malignancy. Not all Radiologists use them but the bottom line is a category 4 needs to be biopsied.  Regards ...
