Ureaplasma

I have read a few of the post for people who tested positive for the ureaplasma well just would like to add im a 39 year old female who also had tested positive for this bacteria about 4 years ago. I had never heard of this infection or bacteria. I also found out that my husband had cheated on me at the time and claims that the person that he was having the affair with tested for this and she did not have this. I was really upset because 1st of all the year before I tested positive my obgyn had tested me and they states it was negative so there fore it left me puzzle where could this have came from and my husband and I argued over this and he wanted to keep saying that the mistress did not have anything. My question is can people be the carrier of something like this and not test positive but it could still be present. I will always  believe no matter what he states that he did get this bacteria from her.  I did take some antibiotics and was retested and it turned out negative however I kept telling my husband to go to the doctor so that he could tell the Dr that I was being treated for this bacteria. He kept telling me that the doctor told him there was no test for a man so there fore he never got any medicine to cure this and had reinfected me because shortly after I got retested on my next visit to the dr and it was positive again.  Im still carrying this bacteria but my Dr claims that it wont really cause any problems however women who may be trying to conceive may have a problem because of the bacteria is what was told to me . Im just really puzzled by this whole  ureaplasma thing and try not to think of it anymore I was tested for other stds and they came out negative>

odor is common when the vaginal ph is off.

double check your std testing to make sure you had all your bases covered and that it was done a the right time. it's ok to ask hubby to provide you with the results of his std testing too. He really should be kissing your butt at this point to try to make you happy and make this work for the both of you.

continue to follow up with your provider as needed to make sure you don't have any vaginal infections.

Thank you for replying to me I dont really know what test he did take however  im still carrying this ureaplasma bacteria because he did not get treated for it when the Dr first gave me antibiotic I had to take about 2 dose before it went away then It came out negative when I retested during this time we also was using protection but after I finished taking the med and went back about  3 mo later it tested positive again so I kept telling him he has to be the one carrying this and never got treatment. I still feel that he got something from the person he was involved with because I also had this very strange peculiar aroma that I never smelled before

the test for males would be a urine culture. honestly though, no symptoms and we don't test for it.   it's not necessarily std related so testing + for it really doesn't mean anyone is lying to you.

did hubby get full std testing 3 months after the last time he had sex with someone else, including herpes testing? typically testing is either done too early or doesn't include herpes testing so just make sure all bases are covered so that you don't get any more surprises later on.
