Concerns about infertility

Doc, I had chlamydia which became pid..and im not sure how long i carried it, and my fiance and have been trying to get pregnant but it isnt happening, Im wondering if my reproductive organs are messed up. I read about what stds can do as far as that goes..and weve been trying for like about 9 months or so..is something wrong, am i infertible, this makes me very sad and I dont know where to turn.

I'm sure its hard, and infertility is a risk of PID, but its just so different from person to person that without testing, there's just no way to put a number on your chances.  :(

Thank you hun, you make me feel better, although im still a lil concerned...but yeah im still young so maybe im tripping..its just that i had the chlamydia and it resulted in pid and i m a lil scared it might of caused some damage..but thanks

Hi there -

Depending on your age, 9 months isn't yet time enough to be alarmed.  If you are under 35, your doc will tell you to wait a year.  If you are over 35, then you might check with your doc now, but that still doesn't mean you have to be alarmed.

No one can tell you if you are infertile over the internet, and your doc is going to have to do some testing to find that out.
