I had a question in the response to this man's problem:

It was said that a pea sized cyst should be reabsorbed into the body if left alone, right?
I'm a 24 year old female, married, with two children. I don't drink, smoke, party, etc.. and only stick to one partner. I have a pea-sized bump in the bikini area of my pubic area, in the front, right by my leg. It seemed to appear overnight. I tried popping it as well, for I have had pimples there before, or ingrown hairs. However, it did not pop, and I just irritated it. It's not itchy, and not sore. It's just there, this little pea-sized bump, under my skin.
I can't afford to go to the doctors, and have no insurance to help me out, so I wonder:
1. How long would it take for a small pea-sized cyst to go away?
2. What is a cyst anyways?
3. How are they formed?
4. When should I absolutely go for medical help?
I would like to take steps, if possible, so this never happens again. It's not sore, and not itchy, but it really bothers me that it's there.
