We all have those same feelings under these circumstances. Like Chris said, the waiting is the worst but that also is something we have all had to do. Your appointment with the Surgeon will no doubt result in some type of biopsy to find out the cause of the tumor. No sense speculating on the "what is it" ... you will just have to hang in there and be as calm about it as possible until your appnt. in Dec. Good idea to call and ask to be seen sooner if at all possible. Take care and don't jump to conclusions ....
Hi Shelly,
Has there been a biopsy of the tumor? Do you have a definite diagnosis?
I wish I could tell you what to think or how to feel. Numb and detached sounds about right. Everyone deals with something like this in their own way. As soon as I had an inkling that something might be wrong (and I recognize that in your case, there may be nothing seriously wrong -- you don't know until you know), I cried. Freaked out a bit. Then I became very focused on only the next step. That has worked well for me for the last 9 months of cancer treatment. Step by step.
You might call the surgeon's office and see if they could put you on a cancellation list to get your appointment moved up. Waiting is one of the hardest things!
If you want to discuss this more with me, feel free to send me a private message and we can talk more.
I'm glad you came by MedHelp with your concerns and I hope we all can help you. There are so many members here with a wealth of experiences. We'll help you in any way we can.
Warmly,
Chris
