You seem to experience 'non-existent smells'. I am sure your spouse could have vouched for it.
This is thought to be due to many reasons. It could have been caused by nerve damage by influenza, or rarely by some drugs. It can also occur as an 'aura' of epilepsy. The smell-department in the brain (residing in temporal lobe) may be misfiring as well.
It may be generated by psychogenic causes as well. Do you think you are having features of depression?
A neuro can try to rule out central causes, as the ENT has already cleared you. If the neuro also finds nothing wrong, we should think about psychogenic causes.
Until then, why don't you try using perfumes on the pillow, and try to mask the same? (You can try if it works)

I don't know of any herbal remedy for the ailment :-). The antibiotics against anerobes are used as anti-amoebic as well. They are prescription medicines.
Concurrently you have to continue supportive treatment like nasal decongestant drops and steam inhalation.
Hope this helps.
Best,
TA
aaaahhhhhh I knew it. LoL You also knew i had been to a ENT Dr. youre goooooooooooooodd. Is that the only way is antibiotic. What are some of the herbal remedies?
Your guess is a bit tangential.
I'm an MD, and ENT sp :-)

Thank You very much. I appriciaete all the feed back that im getting its great. You sound smart and like you know what you are talking about.Must have been there a time or two.LoL Thanks tee911
"Netti" or "Naethi" is a Sanskrit word, meaning 'cleansing'. Nethi pot was advised by the Yogis in India for, maybe, centuries before we had knowledge of bacteria, infections or antibiotics. When 'Modern Medicine' came and equations changed, and nethi washings may have become old-fashioned. Herb to Potion to tablet, and now we are going back to herbal remedies, but with a better knowledge of what is (or what is not) happening.
The bad odor is probably because of some bacteria called anaerobic bacteria residing in the nose or sinuses. Usually they respond to antibiotics directed against anaerobes. Not the usual ones. So, it is given along with the usual antibiotics, and in some countries, such combinations are available.
You may use the nethi pot, but the cleansing water may not reach all the sinuses as they all don't provide straight forward entry. Some have advised swimming in sea water with the same purpose.
If you don't find response with these, you may have to go back to your ENT.
Best of luck !

You're good lol Thank You very much for that information. You are smart cause i had no clue on what that was. I was hoping i would get a response back soon. Thanks again the brain of me LoL tee911
A nettipot looks like a teapot, but it is small and made of ceramic. You can get one at a health food store or a pharmacy that sticks specialty items and extra vitamins--not chains like CVS or Walgreens.
An MD must prescribe bactrim, but you can get the X-clear on your own.
Good Health!
Thank You for your suggestion, i will try that today too. Im looking for any help I can get. Thanks again. tee911
Thank You very much for your suggestion, Im gonna try the rinse today. What is a Netti Pot? tee911
Try X-Clear. It cured me after an 8-year does of antibiotics did not. I also worked with a talented ENT. It stabilizes the bacterial environment of the sinuses. You can get it at health stores, including health food stores and pharmacies. Also inhaled bactim in Ocean nasal spray is recommended for chronic infections.
Try using a sinus rinse...such as the NeilMed Sinus rinse, or a Netti Pot. These use salt irrigation to wash out your sinuses, which in turn helps with bacteria, post nasal drip, and any other substances that may be "trapped" in your sinuses causing odors or other problems. It's a great start!
Best of luck!
