If pain site is pain source and antibiotics can not eliminate the pain, probably curettage of socket is the treatment of choice. Seeing an oral surgeon is advised.
My pain still persists.
Last week my dentist prescribed me Metrogyl 200. However there is no relief. I have to take pain killer everyday sometimes one and sometimes 2.
In case of persisting pain my dentist advised me to go to dental surgeon who will open the dry socket and try to bleed it.
Can I avoid going to dental surgeon and wait for some more time?
Developement of dry socket after 8 weeks is a rare incidence. Certainly, x-ray reveals a big-hole, which is the extraction socket. Bone healing takes 3-6 months. Further investigation of pain source is warranted.
