If the blood is bright red, and appears with straining it is probably hemorrhoids. I don't know what the bumps would be, unless you are feeling the hemorrhoids. I would see a GI doctor just to be on the safe side.
My hemorrhoids give the same symptoms. "Leakage" is the worst problem. Pain and blood just irritting. Though the amount of blood in the toilet bowel can be scary.
Over 5 years ago, I had mine fixed with the infra-red coagulation method. The results were wonderful, but the problem is beginning to return.
My new Dr. doesn't use the infra-red method, claiming it isn't permanent. He recommended, special cortisone suppositories which are helping. I'm fairly impressed with the results, but not raving about the results as I was with the infra-red method.
Now I find out that the infra-red method is much more expensive! That is probably the reason the 2nd Dr. doesn't use it. . . expensive equipment. Maybe the insurance companies are rebelling against the infra-red coagulation method.
