Tramadol is one of the most Dangerous Drugs to mess around with. I'd rather have hydrocodone withdrawals any day.
ultram put me back into physical withdrawals after we from hydro!
Chrosty !!!!!!!!!! Wow !! longtime so seee seee......I guess i can see how you have been. I will just tell you this......and its from what I have read many times over. Yes, it will help with withdrawal, but it is still an opiate....and will only prolong your misery. And, I have also heard it is addicting and even worse to witdrawal from.
I have been following you a long time Chrosty, and it seems you only want to quit because you have to, not because you want to. Sweetheart, you need to WANT it. Or it wont happen.
You know what i mean.......jelly bean?????
Good to see you back, girl.......
Luv,
Nauty....................
Proceed w/ care. when I first took tramadol it did nothing for me either but after I upped my dosage it became a full blown addiciton and it is even harder to get off of that than the other opiotes! If u use it be very careful
I have been addicted to norco for 8 yrs now due to chronic pain. it started w 1 then 5 then 20-30 a day. from there i tried heroin or whatever other opiate I could get my hands on. I now take ultram only for pain (legit) as needed which isnt everyday. I think it can be a good alternative as long as its not used to obtain a High. I would recomend a detox where they administer suboxone and taper you off to nothing. If u have the will it will work. GL Ps avoid methodone
It helps reduce the amount of WDs you feel - but you will also have WDs from them as well. The best description I could give for what you want to use them for is a delay tactic.
I have on numerous occassions, taken Tramadol to get me through one more day of work, just to be sick on a long weekend or a vacation, what have you. Now, while I've taken the Tramadol, I would have mild WDs, but I did have them - however I never went into *real* WDs until I stopped them completely.
Also, I've found tapering harder with Tramadol then Vics -- while Vics you are taking for the way they make you feel - Tramadol, even slightly reduced and you'll start getting WDs and start feeling depressed.
My opinion - stay away from Tramadol. I've ready too many horror stories about the crushing depression these leave on people that WD.
When i said it did nothing for me i meant it did not get me high not that it did not help with pain sorry worded it wrong. Chros
Tramadol is addictive, therefore, as a recovering addict you must be VERY careful. If you do not absolutely need to take an addictive pain medication, then don't. If you are thinking of taking tramadol, your pain probably isn't horribly bad. Stick with the OTCs if you don't think you can handle it. Once upon a time, tramadol led me back to Vicodin, which led me back to OxyContin.
here's a link-- read up on tramadol before you decide anything!!!

I am withdrawing from tramadol at the moment (day three) and hanging in there, but beware that tramadol is extremely addictive.
According to the Thomas recipe you can take one tramadol a day (FOR ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS) to ease the aches and pain, if you can't stand it, but it also recommen xanax for the first three days. I am taking mild benzodiazepines, milder than xanax for four days, and it is helping and making w/d easier. But I really want to stress that you should not take more than one and ONLY for a few days, it is another evil drug, even if it is an efficient painkiller. And tramadol is the reason I am now struggling with w/d in order to beat the addiction.
Good luck
Minnie
I agree with Oxy if it doesn't make you feel better why take an addictive med?

I dont really ahve any experience to share with you.................but I do hope you feel better SOON......
