Hey All

Its been a while since I have posted or even logged on. Between family and life I have been either to busy or to tired.
Im coming up on my year anniversary, April 7th actually. For all that isnt familiar with my story, I was addicted to my husbands pain pills for years (Oxy and Methadone). I wasnt one of the ones that couldnt quit "cold turkey" I had to use suboxone to help.
I am happy to report that I am free of pain pills, April 5th was my last day of taking any pills and as of Nov 10 was my last dose of suboxone. I dont want to sound like some advertisement for suboxone. Is it for everybody? Maybe not, I guess i was just one of the ones it worked for.
Anyway, I hope all is going well for you all. If you have any questions or would like to know more feel free to ask.. I would love to help anyway I can.

The first week off of the suboxone was a little uncomfortable.. There was a slight.. and I mean slight withdrawal. My last day of the suboxone was a little under a quarter of a 8mg tablet. For obvious reasons I dont recommend to just stop on a high dose.. You have to taper.
I will admit. I was stressed and going through some anxiety my last week of suboxone because I knew that was it.. I didnt have any more and could not get a script renewed..(not that I wanted too). I was really worried that the withdrawals were going to be like the horror stories I have read about. The first 2 days were the worst, I think most of it was mental. Each day after got a better and better.. NO WAY near the withdrawal of pain pills. Taking the Suboxone was the best choice I could have made for myself. A year ago today I was still taking pain pills to get through the day. Now, not only am I off the pain pills, but off the suboxone also.

Congradulation's ! Sounds like you are doing great.
How was it getting off the suboxone ?  Did you taper down really low ?  Did you have bad withdrawals ?  We hear so many horror stories about getting off Sub. I'd love to hear how you did. Please keep us posted and again, CONGRADULATION'S !
