Update: New doctor, new diagnosis, new life.. been a while here.. :D

It's been quite some time since I've posted on here and wanted to take a brief moment to get back in touch with everyone and give some updates on how things are going....

I was previously diagnosed with PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease), lupus, Fibro Myalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and a bunch of other crazy garbage.. I literally thought my life was at it's last few years.. LOL..

I had gone to this new specialist here locally, and ordered so many tests, it's unbelievable! I went back to my doctor for the results of all the tests/lab work and he said this,
"Your other doctor told you that you have Lupus right?" I then said, "Yes". He said, "Bull@h1t.. you don't have Lupus! Your other doctor told you that you have PAD, right?" I nodded my head, yes. He said, "Bull! No you don't" so it went on and on.. he read off to me a million and one things that could possibly be wrong, but he said there is nothing, except that I am Bipolar! HA! Of course, none of us want to be bipolar, but I'm quite relieved to know that I am going to 'live'! lol

My new doctor has not received any of my previous medical records as of yet, but I'm hoping he does very soon so that he can help me make sense of the results from the previous tests..

Is there any type of explanation for this? Anyone know??

Today, I am currently seeking another job (although I'm still working part time) but other than that, things have been better than before/the last time I posted. I have not stopped smoking as of yet, but that'll come next. :D

I am still in the process of seeking therapy through a local psychiatrist and haven't gotten any type of meds for the bipolar disorder, but hopefully that will come soon. Of course, if they try to give me anything habit forming, I'm throwing it in their faces, but I just want to be 'normal' again.. hehe.. defining normal has never been anymore difficult.. Maybe I should rephrase myself here- at least HALF WAY normal..

Okay, I've said enough.. God Bless everyone here! I still think about all of you and will never forget what you have helped me accomplish! Love you all!

As always, it is wonderful to see you posting. and What good news to hear! Bi-Polar is treatable. Don't know much about it but it must be such a relief to know those other things are not your problems. You have a wonderful holiday.

Just wanted to say welcome back...I have a brother in law, that was diagnosed with lupus, and he wasn't so sure they had it right...Well after many test, doctors etc, he doesn't have it...So , I really hope this person is right and you don't have it...As far as biopolar, i know several that have it , and they take the right meds are just fine...I wish you the best...

I went to the psychiatrist and he told me many years ago but I was always prescribed something like Paxil or Lexapro, which of course never worked. I went to a psychiatrist up here, AFTER my regular doctor told me I was bipolar as well. My new psychiatrist told me that I definitely (indeed) have it.. LOL
So, I go back again on Monday and I'm not sure what they'll do. It's a follow-up visit because I refused medications before, but it seems like I'm getting worse as the years go by and I can't go on like that.. I gotta do something.. I heard Abilify and Lamictil works? Not sure, but we'll find out..
Anyway, my mother was bipolar, my oldest son is, and so are a few others in my family. My grandmother is the worst yet, and she's an attorney in Cleveland, Ohio. Very smart, but messed up! LOL
Anyway, I'll keep ya guys updated on that as well.. love you all!

Is this new Doctor a psychiatrist? If not, I wouldn't let any Doctor besides a Psychiatrist diagnose me as Bipolar, depressive, OCD, or anything else that is mind altering. Go to 5 different Psychiatrists if you have to...but please don't let a GP do a Bipolar diagnosis.

Hi,

I remember you.  Glad to see you post.

So good, no lupis, but how did the doc know that you're bipolar?

That is great news.  I too would rather be bi-polar than have Lupus. It must be a great feeling knowing your doctor is getting to the bottom of things. Keep us posted.
