Just Wondering

They say you don't break addictions, you just replace them with another addiction. So what I am wondering is....do you believe this to be true? If you do believe this to be true what is the addiction or thing that you have replaced your old addiction with? My replacement is exercise, nutrition, and my pc.

I never thought I'd be addicted to painpills, but it happened.  However, if I look back on my life I can see that I do have an addictive personality.  But, my new addiction is this website.  I'm at work, and can't seem to stop myself coming back on here to check posts, etc.  Someone STOP ME!!!!  LOL!!!!!

I also agree ...Bubbles --Good post!!  I know if i dont stay in thearpy i could easily replace it with a bad one...So far mine would be computer...Chocolate, and just good food!!!   I walk , but have to make myself , so that is not one...

trouble--- In your situation a definite YES, that can be one, and you need to rant and rave, and move on...hugs

With an addictive personality, it is hard for people to stop on bad vice and or addiction without replacing it with another. I beleive that there is a way to learn self control and conquer your addictions, but it is a life long committment. Is there such a thing as a "good addiction"? I say yes, as long as it's a good behavior and is not self destructive, obsesive, harmful to yourself and/or others and you don't have to hide it or lie about it. Mae West was once quoted "too much of a Good thing can be wonderful"....
